As we get to end of the colorful part of fall, I wanted to share some of my recent favorites. Yes, I was very happy this fall to capture some beautiful splashes of color – in leaves and flowers. But I was also happy to revisit where I grew up, and to look at that area with new eyes. Scenery that I always took for granted now captured my attention. On my recent visit home I found myself shooting more landscape shots than I am used to doing. But I was drawn to the varying colors, great lines, and the stunning morning fall light.
The morning I shot this, I awoke feeling very sick with a bad cold. I had slept later than I usually do and made my way downstairs quite reluctantly. However, with my first glance out the window I was rushing to my socks and shoes, grabbing my jacket and putting it over my pj’s, to rush out the door to capture the beautiful golden light and dramatic sky.
I had to stand in the shadows of the trees to capture this one. I could not believe how long those shadows were, from the trees behind me in my parents lawn. I do love morning light! (and do you see the moon shining bright in the morning sky?)
And although this shot is not a landscape like the others, it is one of my favorites from this season. This close up style is more my norm. The texture of the nettles, highlighted by the golden morning sun behind them, just called for me to click away!
